Funding has been given to make North Yorkshire England’s first carbon-negative county. Over £750,000 of the National Community Renewal Fund has been given to councils across North Yorkshire to help boost productivity, grow the local economy and help people get into work with a negative carbon footprint. The project will directly fund the use of electric vehicles, promote plant-based renewable energy and help decarbonise local buildings. The funding is alongside a further £470,000 to bring York’s heritage to life.
