An Ofsted two-day inspection at Archbishop Holgate’s School has concluded that “it was an exceptional place for pupils to learn” and said to be outstanding in all areas.

The school is a Church of England Academy on Hull Road, and its last inspection was in 2007.  Ofsted inspections framework is now more demanding with schools being assessed across many areas which include quality of education, pupils’ behaviour and attitude, personal development, leadership and management of the school and its overall effectiveness.
