The MP for York Outer has called York “oven ready” to be the home of the new Great British Railways HQ. Julian Sturdy spoke in Parliament to say York has an “unrivalled skills base” in rail, and boasts a strong rail heritage that is fit to host the new premises. Sturdy also added that The University of York is a pioneer of rail automation for future projects. The City of York is the first area to put forward a comprehensive offer for the government.
