Artists impression of how the Rowntree site could look

Plans for a 300-home building development to be built on the former Rowntree site in York are set to get the green light. The plans will see the gatehouse being demolished and replaced with 118 apartments and 184 houses, with the buildings between two and six storeys high. The development will come with two pocket parks and two central open spaces to encourage walking and cycling. Councillors will decide the outcome of the plans in a committee meeting this Thursday.
