A new library will be opening in York, with a café, outdoor space and events room. The Clifton Explore centre will be built on the site of the former Clifton Without Junior School, where the old school hall will now house over 15,000 books. There will be extra space for a children’s library and activity rooms which will be available to hire by community groups. 90% of residents responded to City of York Council in favour of the renovation.
