The council is proposing to raise council taxes by 3% next year to try and save more than £7million.  The unprecedented financial impact of the pandemic as well as the significant reduction in funding from central government over the last ten years has added to the financial challenges they must face.

Demand for council’s services continues to rise plus social care costs have risen and the council has to deal with a £9.1m deficit next year.
