The City of York Council is considering installing permanent bollards across the city centre.
Temporary bollards were first introduced in 2019 in an effort to protect the city from hostile vehicle attacks. The Council is proposing to replace the temporary barriers with static and sliding bollards which will allow entry to essential traffic as well as for wheelchairs and mobility scooters. Eight junctions have been strategically selected to minimise the impact on businesses, pedestrians and traffic.
The Executive meeting will take place on the 13th January at 5.30pm.
