Now in its 39th year, the Brass Monkey race is returning despite the surge in covid rate in York but there are several changes in place to protect everyone.
With 1,700 people in the race, runners need to test negative as well as have no signs or symptoms of coronavirus before turning up for the race.
There will be no café, no changing facilities and no bag drop point. The race starts at 10am on Sunday 16th January from York Racecourse.
