York’s first electric vehicle charging hub is still closed after almost six months since it was due to open in July 2021. Designed to be able to charge up to 38 cars at the same time, the HyperHub at Monks Cross is predicted to be one of the largest charging hubs in the North of England, but electric motor users are still not able to use it due to electricity and grid connection problems. There is no confirmed date on the official opening, but the council has announced it is making “good progress”.
