Bill is Jorvik Radio’s Managing Director and presents the daily afternoon show ‘Sounds of the City’.
Originally from London, Bill made the move to York in 2006. He loves York and now can never see himself going back to the big metropolis. A true convert, he would be the first to say that ‘Yorkshire is Gods own country’. In his early career Bill worked for the BBC as an engineer installing radio and TV studios and building outside broadcast vehicles. This is where he got the radio bug and has held an ambition over the years to be on the other side of the glass and to be a radio presenter. Bill hosts Jorvik Radio’s afternoon show ‘Sounds of the City with Bilko’ from 2:00pm - 4:00pm every weekday. The show is a mix of great music; interviews, some interesting facts and a fun quiz . Bill’s musical tastes are varied from Elvis to Elbow and Blondie to The Beetles, he just loves good music across most musical genre’s. Rumor has it, Bill does a decent Elvis at karaoke but be warned, he needs a bit of Dutch courage to help him to get started, then you can’t get him off the mic….! Bill is married to Heather a Yorkshire lass and they have five children between them. He is a York City FC supporter, a keen cyclist and a photography enthusiast.
