A section of York's ancient city walls will be closed for conservation work from Monday, September 2, to Friday, September 6.

The closure affects the area between Fishergate Bar and Fishergate Postern. Access gates will be locked, and signs will guide visitors to rejoin the walkway.

The closure follows the recent reopening of the Station Rise to Micklegate Bar section, which was shut for two months due to the demolition of Queen Street Bridge as part of the Station Gateway project.

The bridge's removal aims to enhance the city walls and improve the station area.
