Menopause Support Group launched

Wednesday, 24 April 2024 16:23

By Barbara Constable

York Women’s Counselling Service's new pilot Menopause Support Group (this will be a first for York as far as we know) has been launched.

The Menopause Support Group Project is being led by Stef Bricklebank, a highly experienced group therapist and trainer, and is co-produced with York St John University (YSJU), and Kyra Women’s Project.

York Women's Counselling Service (YWCS) have been hearing for some time from women receiving counselling at YWCS about the lack of support with the psychological symptoms of the menopause which can be extensive and difficult to handle. This new group aims to fill this crucial gap by providing a nurturing environment where women can freely explore and discuss the often challenging effects of menopause. It will provide a comfortable place for women to talk about their experiences, offer and receive support, share knowledge, and make connections.

Whether someone is peri-menopausal, menopausal or post-menopausal, they can sign up here: https://forms.gle/FD3V3ADeE8tu2RWj8.
