YBGC a huge success!

Over the weekend (11-13 October) York was host to the first ever York Board Games Convention. It was a sold out event- tickets sold out 6 months before the event, and within 2 hours of going on sale. The weekend itself was a huge success and plans are taking shape to run the event next year.

Cracking event, really friendly and well organised, games from light party games through to the heavier stuff, plenty of Blood on the Clocktower and D&D too, what more could you want? Wehad an amazing time at York’s first board game convention. It was very well organised, we instantly felt at home, and played some awesome games with lovely new friends. Loved the con! Plenty of space and like-minded friendly people to play with. The game library was amazing and gave us the chance to try out all kinds of board games.

A really lovely event, in a beautiful venue with amazing staff and a great group of people. Hoping it runs again next year, as I am looking forward to going again I had a lovely time at the York Board Games convention this weekend. The venue was unique, being in a former church. It was small enough to be cosy, but large enough to have things to do. All the people who attended were inclusive and friendly and took their time to help when I tried new games. Being in the heart of York was also a plus as there is so much else to do and see if your partner is running a game and you fancy a little break."
