The Yorkshire society has selected York to host a county-wide civic event.
On August 1st, York is set to host Yorkshire Day, as The Yorkshire Society is bringing together mayors, civic leaders and other dignitaries from all four corners of the county.
Prayer and thanksgiving will begin as people arrive with music sung by the York Philharmonic Male Voice Choir, before procession of civil leaders arrives from Mansion House in Saint Helen’s Square.
The Service of Prayer and Thanksgiving will take place in the cathedral’s nave on Thursday 1st August starting at 11am and will last around an hour.
This is the third time York has hosted the event after it was originally postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic in 2021.
