York’s historic Grand Opera House will be raising the curtain on a major refurbishment at the end of this month. Bringing the theatre venue into the 21st century will be complete with improved disabled access and facilities, a new bar, and a digital ‘at-seat’ drinks ordering system.
The theatre first opened 120 years ago and was last refurbished in 1987, costing £4 million. The venue has been closed since the 7th of August and will reopen on the 31st for the Story of Soul.
