50th Anniversary Celebration for Ugandan Refugees

​​​​​​​On 8th October a celebration will be held to mark the 50th Anniversary of the Ugandan Refugees who arrived in the UK in 1972.

On 8^th October a celebration will be held to mark the 50^th Anniversary of the Ugandan Refugees who arrived in the UK in 1972. 

You can hear stories about how this community was expelled by Idi Amin and how they re-built their lives in York.  They have been a success story contributing to Britain’s economy and society.

The celebration will be held at York University, Heslington Campus.
