York will host a new arts festival in venues across the city which is set to last throughout the entirety of October. The festival, called York Alive will be a mixture of music, comedy and spoken word with the first event being comedian Ruby Wax performing at the York Opera House on the 28th of September. The festival is set to end on the 27th of October with Dom Martin performing a blues set in the York Vaults. Tickets for the event can be bought on Eventbrite and the festival organisers have said that they are adding new events to the schedule all the time.
