Children are never too young to learn fire safety basics – this is the important message we want to communicate this Christmas time.

Children are never too young to learn fire safety basics – this is the important message we want to communicate this Christmas time.

Inspired by the popular ‘elf on the shelf’ tradition which many families participate in this time of the year, ‘Blame the Flame’ inspires to bring a comical, yet important message to young children across the county.

With the help of parent, carers, teachers and anyone else who has contact with children aged between 3-years-old and 7-years-old we hope our messages will help start important conversations across North Yorkshire around preventing accidents in the home.

Advice has been sought from those working with young children around the language used to communicate to a younger audience, with some posts having an interactive element.

Anyone able to spread the message about this campaign or better still, join in is encouraged to do so – we would love for you to be involved.

Posts will be published on Facebook and Instagram at 7am each morning with the #BlameTheFlame
