Alan Downey, the chair of the York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals, NHS Foundation Trust has announced he will be resigning after less than 2 years in the position later this month.
Other members of the board praised Alan for his work in leading them through the beginnings of their recovery from the pandemic and some of the most challenging times the organisation has experienced.
In his place Mark Chamberlain will assume the role of interim chair as the Trust begins the process of recruiting a new chair over the summer.
The next meeting of the board is scheduled to take place at the end of May.
