The City of York Council have been executing the ‘Buzz about York’ environmental scheme throughout the summer.
The campaign aims to promote biodiversity and cultivate green spaces that grow and thrive with wildlife, with the schemes name hinting at a focus on creating a healthy environment for bees to live and pollinate. It includes a range of trials including planting flowerbeds with perennial plants that are a good source of nectar, and a reduced mowing programme.
The campaigns' locations include Duncombe Place, Blake Street, Skeldergate, Station Rise and Leeman Road junction, with the sites being marked with a green ‘Buzz About York’ sticker.
The scheme plans on running until the end of August. For more information go to https://www.york.gov.uk/Buz zAboutYork.
