Oscar winner Gary Oldman is coming back to the York Theatre Royal where he began his career to perform a one man show.

Performing Samuel Beckett’s play, Krapp’s Last Tape, the show will run from April 14th until May 17th, 2025.

The theatre’s CEO, Paul Crewes has said he’s ‘very happy audiences will have the unique opportunity’ to see the Harry Potter star return to the York stage in the brand-new production.

Gary Oldman is currently starring in the hit Apple TV+ series, Slow Horses, nominated for the BAFTA, the SAG Award and a Golden Globe.

The play follows the life of a man who records a tape reviewing the year gone by every year on his birthday, focusing mainly on the tape he records when he is 69, alone and drinking a bottle of wine just as he did 30 years prior.

Tickets can be accessed via YorkThatreRoyal.co.uk, or their box office: 01904 623568.
