York Against Cancer together with and Breast Friends York are thrilled to announce the launch of a brand-new initiative that's sure to warm your heart and lift your spirits.
Welcome to the Wellbeing Choir at The Leveson Centre, located within the York Community Stadium in Huntington. Join them every Tuesday morning at 10.30am, where they invite anyone whose life has been touched by any type of cancer, directly or through a loved one, to come together for a harmonious experience.
If you’ve been affected by cancer yourself, the choir is an inclusive environment where voices of all kinds find their place, whether you're a seasoned songbird or simply enjoy singing in the shower you will be more than welcome here. It's not just about hitting the high notes; it's about sharing a meaningful moment with others who understand your journey.
The inaugural meeting was a tremendous success, with more than 20 people in attendance. The joy was palpable, setting a perfect tone for what lies ahead!
Nicola Betts, the leader of the Wellbeing Choir, said:
"I feel truly honoured to lead this choir in such a stunning venue. Everyone is welcome to join us! Don't let doubts about your singing abilities hold you back; it's all about having a good time with others who can relate to your experience. Please help us spread the word!"
This heartwarming choir, hosted by York Against Cancer at The Leveson Centre, is completely free of charge. However, the charity relies on donations and ongoing support from both individuals and businesses to continue offering these invaluable services.
Victoria Edwards, Assistant Manager at The Leveson Centre, commented:
"Our first choir meeting blew us away, witnessing how it uplifted everyone's spirits was a truly magical experience. At York Against Cancer, our mission is to reach as many people affected by cancer as possible. By introducing innovative services like this, we aim to extend our support for many years to come."
Join us in supporting York Against Cancer's mission to assist cancer patients and their families throughout Yorkshire. Your donations can make a real difference.
