From Thursday Northern Rail will no longer allow e-scooters or electric skateboards on any of the local trains running through across North Yorkshire including York and Selby.
This is applicable to services and all stations and the decision has been made due to the lithium batteries causing a potential fire risk if they overheat.
Mobility scooters, e-bikes and electric wheelchairs can still use all Northern services and stations
