The oldest convent in England is opening its doors to display new research into the lives of those who lived there. The Bar Convent, located on Blossom Street, was established in 1968 and is welcoming visitors to explore their buildings as part of York’s Unlocked events.
The new research carried out into the convent’s history will be showcased this weekend, taking place on Saturday 15th October from 10 am to 4 pm. Admission to the house, the chapel, and the Georgian parlour is free with no pre-booking required.
