The highly anticipated Newcastle-based burger chain will be making its move into a very historic part of York. The Fat Hippo will be located at 52 Low Petergate, a venue currently trading as Jimmy’s.
Plans were submitted to the City of York Council in the Spring but opposed by York’s Civic Trust. The opening follows scaling down renovation plans, into something to preserve the character of the building as one of special architectural or historic interest.
