Firefighters in York have had to be called to rescue a puppy from a storm drain

Calls were made after by a panicked owner whose dog fell into the drain.

Crews were called to the emergency that took place on Huntington Road at 11:49am Yesterday.

A spokesperson from North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue service said: “A crew from York responded to a puppy stuck in a storm drain.

“The crew used a reach pole and crew power to extricate the puppy which has now been reunited with its owner.”
