Crews from Thirsk, Boroughbridge, Richmond, Malton and Northallerton, were all alerted to the fire on a steep embankment at the lake at 6:05pm.
The incident was ongoing for the duration of Saturday night, with crews establishing a perimeter around the burnt grass, while digging down and dampening the area to stop the spread.
Gormire Lake is a popular destination for walkers and it is unlikely that the recent fire will faze its visitors.
