Drivers are warned that inevitable disruption will occur as significant refurbishment on the A1237 York outer ring road begins. The five weeks of work will start on Monday and take place at night, between 8 pm and 6 pm, to help ease traffic flow.
Repairs are to be carried out on the Rawcliffe Ings Bridge over the River Ouse and Millfield Railway Bridge over the East Coast Main Line. A City of York Council spokesperson has said, 'Weather permitting, the scheme will be completed by Monday 3rd of July.' Temporary traffic signals will control traffic and there will be marshals on-site during the works to assist pedestrians and cyclists.
