Two fundraising gigs have been organised for York rocker Don Jackson. Don was previously denied a liver transplant by the NHS, despite his nephew Jack volunteering to be a donor, so a fundraiser was launched to pay for his treatment in Turkey. Since then, half of the £80k target was reached and Don and Jack are currently in Turkey.
Sadly, Don is now facing another huge setback as doctors have discovered cancerous tumours that must be addressed, therefore delaying his life-saving liver transplant. Here in York, two fundraising shows have been organised to try and reach the £80k target. One is tonight, at the Crescent from 7 pm. Tickets are £11 and you can expect live music, raffles, prizes, and good times. The second is a gig taking place at York Vaults on Sunday the 19th of March, entry is free but there will be donation buckets.
