Celebrate Yorkshire Day in Tansy style in the civic celebration host city, York.

Yorkshire Civic celebrations for Yorkshire Day will include the traditional service of prayer and thanksgiving, a street parade, and a formal lunch.

For those interested in less formal celebrations there are a host of events across the city, including the four day Yorkshire Artisan Market from Yorkshire Day to Sunday the 4th of August. Little Bird Artisan Markets will be operating their famous market on Parliament Street from 10am to 5pm.

Yorkshire Day will also see the formal launch of the new York Trailblazers trail, which celebrates many of York’s unsung heroes through seventeen sculptures of the Tansy Beetle. The trail will run from Yorkshire day till the 30th of September.

For a more physical celebration of Yorkshire day York Maze will be celebrating with Yorkshire Pudding tossing and the superhero Yorkshire-Man diving into a giant Yorkshire Pudding filled with gravy.

The Service of Prayer and Thanksgiving will take place at York Minster from 11am and will feature the York Philharmonic Male Voice Choir.
