Plans to convert a historic York psychiatric Hospital into 120 homes is set to go before City of York Council’s planning committee next Thursday.
The Hospital, known as The Retreat, is based on Heslington Road and closed in 2018.
PJ Livesey Holding Ltd have put forward the application, a company with a successful track record in converting historic buildings, including former hospitals.
The plans would see a mix of one-to-five-bedroom apartments and homes built across the former hospital estate with onsite bowling greens, tennis courts and a cricket pitch potentially being turned into medows.
Five public comments have been lodged about the plans, including the concerns about congestion but council highways officers have not raised any objections.
