An iconic jeweller to royalty, celebrities, and significant historical figures has plans to move into a former York department store. The Watches of Switzerland Group has applied to the City of York Council to refurbish and reconfigure former Virgin Money and Debenhams units, aiming to create a new 625m2 store.
The proposed retailer is Mappin & Webb, an international jewellery company founded in 1775 with previous clients that include Queen Victoria and Charles Dickens.
