The City of York Council has rejected plans, proposed by York Holiday and Cycle Shop, to convert a field in to an up-market glamping site.
The council sited the potential harm of the green belt around the village of Holtby as the reason for their decision to reject the plans.
Trevor Smith, who is the owner of the current site, expressed his eagerness to expand, saying: “You can’t stand still, you need to keep an eye on the future”.
Facilities at the current site include eco-pods, cycle storage and a cycle wash.
