The York based rail-operator LNER has launched a new named service to celebrate King Charles III’s coronation next month.

The Era of British history under Charles III will be known as the Carolean Era, similarly to that of Charles I and Charles II.

So, From the 6th of May, the daily LNER service from London King’s Cross to Edinburgh Waverly will be called the ‘Carolean Express’, with the first service departing on the day of the King’s coronation.

This is not the first time LNER have paid homage to a royal occasion with trains and services in the past being named: "Silver Jubilee", "Queen of Scots" and "The Elizabethan".
