A local fish and chip shop in York has received an outpouring of support on social media, after a fire started in the shop last Friday.

Fire crews from York and Huntington were dispatched to Strensall Fisheries at around 7:25pm.
A North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue spokesperson noted that it was an electrical fire, which was extinguished quickly by the crew, who used a ventilation fan to properly ventilate the property.
Although the shop closed after the fire, their social media page stated that staff were: “All in shock but thankfully ok”.
