York Minster was sealed off and evacuated in the early hours of yesterday morning.

York Minster was sealed off and evacuated in the early hours of yesterday morning. This was due to a member of the public reporting suspicious activity at around 7:40 am.

A North Yorkshire Spokesperson said, “A member of the public reported seeing a suspicious object being placed in a refuse bin.” “Enquiries made at the scene deemed the object not to be suspicious. The cordon was lifted at 8.45 am.”
