A group of English nationalists lined York’s streets yesterday, demanding for a parliament to be built in York.
Calls of “York Minster, not Westminster” were heard, as the leader of the party, Graham Moore, described the aim as shutting down the British Parliament in Westminster and deploying the English parliament back to York.
The march was monitored by a police presence and stretched along Parliament Street, Blake Street, Lendal Bridge and Leeman Road Memorial Gardens.
As promised, the march was peaceful, with police directing traffic to let demonstrators through.
