A sculpture of the York actress, Dame Judi Dench, has been approved for a park in York. The statue is set to go next to one of Dave Jackson, the cycle campaigner, in Keble Park, Bishopthorpe. Planning approval has been received for both sculptures, a bench, and an information board.
The plans were put forward by Cycling charity Sustrans, which said: ‘We were delighted to hear that the portrait bench can now be installed on the York to Selby cycle route. The path is a natural choice for a bench to mark two of the city’s local heroes.’
