Estbek House, a North Yorkshire restaurant in Sandsend near Whitby, recently hosted a wine and tapas evening, raising a fantastic £4,500 for York & Scarborough Hospitals Charity, to benefit the Urgent and Emergency Care Appeal for Scarborough Hospital.

Co-owners David Cross and Tim Lawrence decided to support York & Scarborough Hospitals Charity after David’s late mother Brenda received phenomenal care at Scarborough Hospital.

On the evening, guests enjoyed a fine dining experience featuring an array of locally sourced tapas dishes, each paired with a selection of wines generously donated for the event. The evening also included a raffle, with prizes kindly contributed by local businesses. The highlight of the raffle was a grand prize of a two-night stay at Estbek House, complete with dinner each evening, marking the restaurant's 20th anniversary and adding a special touch to the evening.

Becky White, Community Fundraiser at York & Scarborough Hospitals Charity said:

‘We are incredibly grateful to all the team at Estbek House for their generous support. The fantastic amount raised will make a real difference to both staff and patients who will spend time within the new Urgent and Emergency Care Centre at Scarborough Hospital’.
