Detailed plans have been submitted for a new 1,500 square metre Lidl store at Monks Cross and a drive-thru restaurant.
York could be getting a brand-new Lidl! Detailed plans have been submitted for a new 1,500-square-metre store at Monks Cross and a drive-thru restaurant. It is set to be built on the site of the former TK Maxx and Argos stores off Monks Cross Drive and will create around 40 jobs.
Lidl had already won permission to build a store at Monks Cross and now the full, detailed plans have been submitted to the City of York Council. This makes it a neighbour to the Sainsbury’s that is already there, Sainsbury’s has objected, unsuccessfully to Lidl’s development plans.
Under the revised application, the development will include a 1,512 square metre sales area, a warehouse delivery area, a bakery and customer toilets.
