When Low Petergate closed suddenly in October last year, warnings it may be out of use for a while were announced. Nine months later and the city centre street finally reopened on Wednesday. 

It was closed to traffic when structural problems were uncovered in one of the street's buildings, 71 Low Petergate. Work to fix the building, which dates back to the early 1600s, has now been completed and it’s safe again.
