River Ouse flooding causing business to shut.

In Acaster Malbis, the Ship Inn Pub has been forced to close for the rest of the week due to the River Ouse flooding almost 4.2 metres above normal levels. This is the second time the pub has had to close its doors this year due to flooding, with the City of York Council listing it as an Asset of Community Value in January after a period of closure for the same reasons.

The river’s peak so far has been 4.19 metres around 11pm on Monday night. The river levels will remain high as further rainfall is forecast for this week.
