More rail strikes will take place this coming week which will lead to a reduced timetable for a variety of services taking place.

The primary days that will be affected will be Thursday 18th of August and Saturday the 20th of August and will affect rail services such as LNER, Transpennine Express, Cross Country and Northern Trains. and due to this commuters have been urged to only make trips that are essential.

However, this new strike information will negatively affect a large percentage of racegoers as the York Races return this week from Wednesday the 17th to Saturday the 20th of August.

A representative for the racecourse has suggested alternative travel options such as coaches and staying in accommodation for the night and travelling home in the morning.

To find out more information and the strike timetables visit each rail services respective websites.
