A report has been released, showing that Allerton Park Waste Recovery Plant recycles just one percent of waste.
The plant, which is taxpayer-funded, should have met the target of 5 percent but failed to do so, despite the fact that the report found some positives such as unplanned downtime falling from 61 days to 29 days.
Only last year, City of York Council raised concerns over Allerton Park’s recycling performance, after it was revealed the plant had never met their recycling targets, leading to £653,000 in performance deductions.
