Huge success for York resturant week in March, set to return in October later this year.

York’s 9th restaurant week has broken all records generating £1.5 million for the city since its inception in April 2019 by organiser York BID.

Running from 11th - 17th March, the initiative aimed to encourage diners to visit York’s restaurants with over 200 exclusive deals on food and drink on offer from over 100 businesses, making it one of the largest of its kind in the UK. It has been the most successful event to date for boosting trade in hospitality; more than 17,000 vouchers were downloaded from the event website, almost equal to £320,000.

York BID Business Manager and coordinator of the event, Chris Bush, says “it’s encouraging to see so many diners supporting the city’s restaurants.” Restaurant week is set to return for the 10th time in October later this year.
