Free breakfasts for Hungry Minds provides immediate success.
Donations from the York Hungry Minds Appeal has meant children at Burton Green Primary School have been enjoying a free healthy breakfast over the last week. As part of a year-long trial, each child will be offered a free breakfast to improve learning and reduce health inequalities.
The appeal is being run on behalf of the City of York Council following a Labour pledge to improve the provision of free school meals. There has already been an increase of attendance at Burton Green, with the hope to extend the scheme to other primary schools.
