Police have arrested a suspected fuel thief next to a York McDonalds on the A59.

Police have arrested a suspected fuel thief next to a York McDonalds on the A59. The fast-food restaurant, conveniently located right next to a BP petrol station, was the scene of the arrest of the man, who is suspected of committing a number of make-offs from petrol stations across Yorkshire.

The Saab driver tested positive for cannabis at the scene and was further arrested. Sgt Paul Cording wrote on Twitter that “He has been interviewed and charged with making off without payment and enquiries are ongoing with other identified officers”.
