The Archbishop and Lord Mayor of York as well as other representatives have arrived on the other side of the Atlantic on a four day mission to boost trade and friendship ties with New York City.
Coined as ‘old York meets New York’, the trip will involve business networking events as well as a Great Yorkshire Show to promote the region.
A special service at St Thomas Church will bring the trip to a close with a friendship ‘ledger stone’ designed and carved at York Minster will be unveiled and a message from King Charles will be read by British Consul General Hannah Young. This will mark a century of friendship between the two cities.
