On Saturday 10 June, Toys ‘R’ Us returned to York and has re-opened in WHSmith in Monks Cross. After closing down all of their UK stores in 2018, York welcomed the first Toys ‘R’ Us store after six years.
The business was opened by Geoffrey the Giraffe and excited shoppers gathered around the mascot for pictures and goodie bags before entering the brand-new store. On Facebook, Toys ‘R’ Us UK reported that they were incredibly happy to see many people at the opening of the event.
However, the company have recently revealed that they have further plans for Toys ‘R’ Us to open in nine WHSmith’s around the UK.
