Plans to open “warm banks” in York are being considered for the winter.
The concept, similar to that of a food bank, will give York residents a place to stay if they are unable to afford to heat their homes this winter, in the midst of the cost-of-living crisis.
The energy price cap is expected to increase from around £2000 to £3500 on Friday 26th August, and will further increase £4266 in January 2023 and warm banks could make all the difference at this time.
